Valea Crișului Commune is a commune in the central part of Covasna County, in the Sfântu Gheorghe Depression. The commune consists of the villages of Calnic and Valea Crișului, with an administrative area of 2,785 haha and a population of 2,275 inhabitants.

Projects undertaken in the development of the biomass concept

Dalia Greenhouses

are a private business located in Valea Crișului, Romania.

The company has installed 7 biomass heating plants with a total capacity of 4 MW.

The boilers are fuelled with local agrobiomass resources (energy willow, biomass from pasture maintenance and forestry activities), contributing to significant savings in heating costs while supporting local value chains. The entire concept from design to implementation and commissioning is exclusively owned by a local producer. Production leading to 60% savings compared to using gas for the same purpose. The success of this project has inspired other greenhouse owners to follow suit, with the Green Energy Cluster being the generator and supporter of the innovative, bioenergy concept.
