Vânători-Neamț Municipality - Neamț county, North-East region

The commune of Vânători Neamț is located 3 km from Târgu Neamț, 45 km from Piatra Neamț and 100 km from Bacău and Iași, in the Neamț Depression. The commune consists of the villages of Lunca (1,090 inhabitants), Mănăstirea Neamț (234 inhabitants); Nemțișor (1,413 inhabitants) and Vânători-Neamț (4,858 inhabitants) - the village of residence with an administrative area of 16,731 ha and a total population of 7,595 inhabitants.

Projects implemented in the development of the biomass concept

The area is famous for the existence of Christian Orthodox monasteries and hermitages spread over the area of the Vânători Neamț Natural Park.

There are about 50 churches, small hermitages and monasteries. Of these, the first institution that chooses to become sustainable in terms of thermal energy is the Monastery of Sihăstria.

In 2022, the monastery refurbished a 4MW wood-fired power plant that heats most of the buildings under its administration, with a total area of 7,500 square metres.
