With a little organisation and by using non-reimbursable funds, the value of bills during winter can be reduced accordingly, at the same time cleaning the environment of green waste.
The LIA Foundation's project consisted in the purchase of a green waste collection and processing line, a heavy machinery and a biomass power plant. In addition to creating jobs, this project is a model for rural administrations, which can thus reduce the cost of heating public buildings.
It can also be a model for owners of forests or public land, as the green waste resulting from the clearing of pastures or logging can be a new source of income.
The accumulated green waste is fed into a shredding machine that chops the branches into small pieces. This can be done right on the spot, in the pasture or in the factory. In order to obtain quality fuel, it is very important to dry the shredder properly. Basically, drying properly results in cheap fuel. The proceeds from the sale of excess fuel material are used by the LIA Foundation to cover part of the costs of running the institution.
