The commune of Chichiș is located in the south-western part of Covasna County, bordering Brasov County, and consists of the villages of Bacel and Chichiș. The commune has an administrative area of 2064 ha and a population of 1,701 inhabitants.

The economy of the commune is based on activities in the field of wood exploitation and processing, trade in agricultural products, services and agritourism. However, the main activity remains agriculture, through the cultivation of plants and livestock.
